Phoenix Acupuncture | Acupuncture For Arthritis

Acupuncture for Rheumatoid Arthritis and Acupuncture for Osteoarthritis

There are two forms of arthritis - Rheumatoid Arthritis and Osteoarthritis.
  • Rheumatoid Arthritis is an immune system disorder in which the patient’s immune system begins to attack joint tissues.  It can be diagnosed in the very young and is a painful and debilitating disease.  It is usually most prevalent in the hands and feet, although any joint can be affected.

  • Osteoarthritis usually develops later on in life and is usually the result of repetitive motion injuries.  It can emerge earlier if an individual’s hobbies or work require repetitive motion in the same area of the body. Hands, shoulders, hips, and feet are most commonly affected.

In both forms of arthritis, connective tissues between the joints begins to degenerate.

Symptoms of Arthritis Include:
  •    Inflammation/swelling
  •     Redness
  •     Stiffness
  •     Loss of range of motion
  •     Pain

Acupuncture for arthritis can provide relief to inflamed and swollen joints.  With regular acupuncture treatments you can keep arthritis pain and inflammation to a minimum.

Phoenix Acupuncture and Arthritis Go Hand in Hand

Acupuncture works with specific points along meridians - the body’s energy patterns - in order to stimulate a physiological and energetic response.  Some of the key healing effects of acupuncture will:
  • Stimulate a healthy immune system response
  • Reduce inflammation and inhibit an overactive inflammatory response
  • Release pain relieving endorphins
  • Balance hormones - hormonal imbalances have been linked to inflammatory response - which can exacerbate arthritis

Arizona Arthritis Patients Can Receive Acupuncture For Arthritis

This ensures they have received 3 - 4 years of the rigorous education and training to apply safe, experienced, and knowledgeable phoenix acupuncture doctor. At Southwest Integrative Medicine, we will work with you to provide a foundation of healing treatments that will work with your body’s natural immune responses.
